I'm Michael. I've been getting my hands dirty with DIY since I was a kid. Helping my dad, watching how things got built, figuring out how they came apart. That curiosity never went away. It just got more expensive.

My first flat was a baptism of fire. Then came the second one. Then came the big one: a full-scale renovation that tested every ounce of patience I had.

But it wasn't the physical graft that nearly broke me. It was the shopping.

The Problem

Every single material purchase became a research project. I'd find a product I needed, then spend hours hopping between supplier websites trying to work out who actually stocked it, at what price, and whether they'd deliver to my area.

Prices varied wildly. Sometimes 30%, 50%, even more for the exact same thing. Builders' merchants with opaque pricing. National chains that were convenient but expensive. Local suppliers with better deals, but impossible to find unless you already knew they existed.
